Hikaru Nakamura's Black Night Parade Manga Gets Live-Action Film Starring Ryō Yoshizawa, Kanna Hashimoto

Yoshizawa plays man hired to give terrible gifts to naughty kids at Christmas

The story follows Miharu Hino, a young man who could not get into college or a steady gig, so he ends up spending every day at his part-time convenience store job. However, this man who is good for nothing somehow lands a job via "Black Santa Claus" at a company that delivers terrible presents to naughty children. ("Black companies" is a Japanese slang for exploitative workplaces.)

Kingdom) co-stars as Shino Hojō, Miharu's hacking genius colleague at Santa Claus House, a company that delivers presents to children worldwide.

Your Lie in April, Sonic's Japanese voice in 2020's Sonic the Hedgehog) plays Kaiser Tanaka, Miharu's gaudy co-worker and rival when they worked at the convenience store.

Fullmetal Alchemist sequels) plays Teppei Kohira, a taciturn, expressionless, but kind colleague who looks after Miharu for some reason.

Yoshizawa noted that this is his second time working with Fukuda on an adaptation (after Gintama), and he was full of delight and anticipation to be collaborating again. He added that he spent "crappy hot nights" running around streets in a bulky Santa suit "soaked in sweat, tears, and blood," and joked that of all the exploitative sweatshops, Santa's is probably the worst.

Nakamura is also currently drawing the adaptation.

Nakamura's previous work includes licensed the manga, and is releasing it in omnibus volumes.
