Stan Lee, Frederik Schodt, Priest Helmer Interviewed

The Comic Book Resources website posted an interview with American comic book pioneer Shaman King) on Tuesday. In the interview, Lee talked about his working relationship with Takei, the differences between Ultimo and his Marvel work, and his opinions on the Japanese manga and its impact on the rest of the world. Lee also express his hope that Ultimo may have an animated TV series or movie adaptation.
Publishers Weekly has published an interview with veteran manga translator and novelist Jared Cook, the pros and cons of flipped manga, and how manga in Japan has changed in the past 20 years and where it may go in the future. Schodt noted the popularity of manga and Japanese pop culture in the United States, Europe, and South Asia, and delved into what that means for the United States. He added his thoughts on how Japanese-to-English manga translation has changed over the past few decades.
Tokyopop brought Hyung over from Korea and "walked him through the art department, and we talked about the story a lot, and he talked about he wanted to continue his storyline and how essentially it could evolve [into] the storyline of the movie." Stewart also talked about the vampire mythology for the movie and the multiple changes in the release date, which is now set for January 14, 2011.
