Manga by Tezuka, Tatsumi Vie for Harvey, Quill Awards

The Executive Committees of the Harvey Awards announced that Tove Jansson.
Jansson's whimsical animal tales inspired four anime series and one movie in Japan. The other nominees are Lat's semi-autobiographical Kapung Boy retrospective on 1950s Malaysia, and the first volume of Joann Sfar's portrayal of European Jewish communities in Klezmer. Creators in the comic field nominate and vote on these awards, which will be presented at Baltimore Comic-Con in Maryland on September 8.
The Reed Business Information and the Scott McCloud's metacommentary on Making Comics, Bryan Talbot's Alice in Sunderland exploration of the real-life wonderland inspiration, and two Drawn and Quarterly titles, Rutu Modan's Exit Wounds and Marguerite Abouet's Aya.
