posted on by Amanda Whalen

An exhibition for In This Corner of the World is coming to Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Nagoya this fall. It will include more than 130 original illustrations and Kōno's notes, handwritten chronologies, and writing implements. A variety of goods will be sold, including art books signed by Kōno. The exhibition was previously on display at the Tower Records in Shibuya in May.

Starting with the exhibition in Fukuoka, a new illustrated bowl will also be sold. The bowl's illustration depicts the scene in the first volume of the manga when the protagonist Suzu and her sister-in-law Keiko eat rice gruel made from food scraps.

Kōno's original manga adapted into a live-action television special in 2011 and a feature-length anime film in November 2016.
