Watch Power Rangers Take on Voltron in Live-Action Fan Short

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and YouTube channel ismahawk have answered that question in the most awesome way: a live-action short in their Minute Match-ups series.

While the tone is light-hearted and the dialogue often pokes fun at the situation, it is respectful of the original franchises and includes several references for devoted fans. (Note that the battle takes place, fittingly, over the Pacific.) The actors include familiar personalities like Greg Miller of the video game website Kinda Funny and professional wrestler Xavier Woods.

If you're unconvinced by the battle's result, Tyler of The Imaginary Axis (a YouTube channel that answers pop culture-related questions with science) breaks down Megazord and Voltron's respective attributes and how they would affect a hypothetical clash. Shepherd and Le also promise to post two making-of videos soon, one for the live-action segments and one for the CGI.

While they are both old franchises, Power Rangers and Voltron have returned to popularity recently with the recent animated series Twitter to show their .

A rejected Power Rangers film pitch in 2015 was also inspired by a similarly dark live-action fan film posted online.
